Your LinkedIn Headline Should Define You and Your Job Search
DO NOT Put Seeking New Opportunities in the headline of your LinkedIn profile. When a hiring manager or recruiter reviews your LinkedIn headline, an immediate impression is formed (both positive and negative). If the headline does not accurately represent you, then your professional summary will not get read. If your summary is not read, then the remainder of your profile will not be read.
As your resume might be 3-4 pages, it will then be condensed into a one-paragraph professional summary. This summary will then need to be shortened to 120 characters for your headline.
Your headline needs to define you. That fact that you are seeking new opportunities, does not define you. Here is an example of some actual headlines
